Denis Mourizard

Good morning

"One might think that movement makes life, whereas it is life that makes movement. Without light, there would be no shadow, and without shadow or light, no movement would be visible. Life is therefore inseparable from shadow and light, which are the raw material of the photo-grapher.

You are not born a photographer, you become one. My biography below expresses much better than my words, how photography has become over the decades my best companion, my best friend, but also my best enemy at certain times of my life."

Photographer & Magazine Reporter

I started writing my first articles, by hand on large A3 sheets, in 1994. I was 22 years old. Since then, I have collaborated with six national magazines, under my name or under a pseudonym. over 20 years, more than 7,000 articles published in the French press have accumulated in my computer archives. Each of these articles only saw the light of day accompanied by my photographs & reports, which over time generated a bank of more than 200,000 images.

There was a time when it became extremely difficult for me to reconcile professional life, the collapse of the press and changing fashions and media. I gradually saw the vast majority of these partners disappear.

Photographer & book author

Passion, evolution, communication

My books have always been a means of communication for me. I have transmitted in these works my different passions, throughout my evolution. From fishing which was my original essence, to the sinner which I learned to discover in myself, I never stopped writing and publishing what I saw. In 24 years, 17 works have seen the light of day.

Product photographer & publicist

At the heart of a Universe made of passion, my passion like that of my equals, I worked to give life this part of dream which also came through advertising.

I have had the honor and incomparable happiness of producing numerous advertisements for prestigious brands such as Ultimate Fishing, Diamond, Sébile, Megabass, Duo, Tenryu, Fenwick, Stren, Abu Garcia, but also Shimano and Ragot.

I also took photos of the products in the catalogs of some of these brands, both to create their visuals, but also for my advertising creations.

Creator & designer

From 1996 to 2018 I had the honor and joy of designing, and sometimes creating, fishing rods for prestigious brands such as SERT, MITCHELL, BERKLEY, DIAMOND, SURF CONCEPT & MDTech.

The last decade

In 2014, I experienced a devastating succession of romantic, professional and health accidents. I entered what is commonly called the dark night of the soul. Just as tired as despairing of seeing the world as it was, made of jealousies and betrayals for power, possession or simply being right. I sank into deep burnout.

I stopped all activity to take care of myself. So I no longer took photographs of fish or fishermen, I only tried to understand men, by starting a long therapy on myself. My photography changed, it was called an iPhone. Always in my pocket, I learned to see the world differently, until this day when I consider myself happy to live again, and full of projects to the top of my soul.

Return to teaching

2014-2016

Formation

Sophrologie.

Finding my personal and inner feelings was necessary for me. Understanding why I could no longer communicate in this world was the start of a long human journey.

2015-2017

Training

Neurolinguistic programming & hypnosis

2018-2022

Therapist activity & gradual return to photography (2023) after 10 years of non-professionalization.

For a few years, I put my life on hold to help those who were suffering as I had suffered. I don't claim to have worked miracles, but this stage of my life gradually led me to return to artistic expression, in search of beauty. This is how I became today’s photographer.
